The Luxe Cinema is working with independent film production company C. McMullan Films, to bring you a chance to see yourself on the big screen before enjoying a show! On the 13th and 14th of May filming will take place at The Luxe Cinema for our official short film advertisement video, and we invite you, our audience, to take part as an extra!
In modern day Japan, Wolverine is out of his depth in an unknown world as he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.
Over the last year we The Luxe Cinema have struggled to get films on dates where we have programmed them in. This is due to the big 4 Cinema chains going Digital. They own about 70% of the screens nationwide. The rest is independants like us and small chains. The big Multiplexe chains don't order any 35mm print anymore. So when we request a film like for example The Sweeney in 35mm print there are only about 15 prints on circulation around UK. This creates a waiting list thus has a knock on effect of our Cinema program.
Not sure if you are aware but Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is only being released in 2D now across the UK. Warner Bros decided to pull the 3D version because they said it was not up standard. They did say that part 2 will be in 3D. Which by then The Luxe will also have 3D capabilities. So no need to drive to Kings Lynn or Peterborough as the film is the same as we have it here at The Luxe.
